Nike no longer builds every pair entirely from leather; this leather-synthetic blend preserves the structure while making the shoe breathable.

The upper combines two materials: leather wraps the foot, while synthetic material structures the sides and reinforces the ankle. The stitching is straight and the panels are thick.
